The Australian Government Coaching Circles program has now come to a close and we would like to thank everyone who has been involved.

This highly successful program ran from 2012 to 2020. It coached and mentored 537 participants and provided much-needed networking opportunities and career support for women in digital.

The program was designed and delivered by Orijen and is an excellent example of an effective and positive partnership between government and industry. We would like to thank the Orijen team for their significant contribution to women in digital.

The feedback from those who took part in this program has been overwhelmingly positive. It reinforces the need and importance of these programs in the public sector and the digital profession in general.

Participants have given the following responses:

“The coaching circles have been a place of calm and rest. I felt welcome and valued.”

“My coaching circle still catches up for dinner every few months. We learnt so many new things and looked forward to catching up each month.”

“I gained a lot more confidence and clarity on where I want my career to go”

“I have since been successful in getting a promotion. The skills and strategies I learnt as part of the Coaching Circle played a large part in convincing me to keep trying and gave me the confidence and skills I needed to succeed.”

The coaching program was part of the DTA’s submission to the APS Diversity and Gender Equity Awards in 2018. The DTA went on to win in this category, which is a great recognition of the program’s work, and the importance of addressing gender equity issues in the Australian workforce.

Although this program has ended, we have a new exciting program starting soon as part of our scheduled line-up for women in digital.
